The Metropol Underwater Club, enjoying it’s fourth decade of operation, was established in 1966, is dedicated to the safe training of students in the sport of recreational scuba diving and utilises the most modern and approved training methods available.  The instructors, assistant instructors and dive masters are fully trained and certified by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).  All instructional personnel are covered by liability insurance.

Students, once enrolled in the Course, are paid up members of the club for the current club year (the club year runs from JAN 01 - DEC 31).

As certified divers, the members may also continue their diving education with the Club, taking the Advanced, Rescue and Speciality courses (Night, Wreck, Underwater Photo, Search & Recovery, etc) we offer.  The Club certifies divers up to the rating of Assistant Instructor.  Other courses are made available from time to time, (C.P.R. & Nitrox, etc.)

As members, students are entitled to attend the Metropol Annual Christmas Party (held in February or March, when it isn’t nearly as busy!) and to the Annual Metropol Picnic.  Traditionally, the Club has given away thousands of prizes including regulators, tanks, backpacks and many other items at these events. 

The Club operates a number of sanctioned dives throughout the summer at locations such as Niagara River, Cornwall, Brockville, Kingston, Bala and others.  Once certified, members are welcome to sign up for these dives.
